Sweaty hands, a real scourge for some

Having sweaty hands is a phenomenon that can sometimes be unpleasant or even embarrassing. But what causes us to have sweaty hands? How can we remedy this? In this article, the nail expert Maryton will explain everything to you!

Palmar hyperhidrosis means that the body produces more sweat than normal. Unlike the sweat produced by the armpits, the sweat secreted by the palms of the hands is odorless. It is mainly composed of mineral salts, water and lactic acid.

But what is this actually due to?

If you are rather anxious or stressed, the palms of your hands become covered in sweat. Hyperhidrosis is linked to hyperactivity of the nervous system. So all factors such as stress, stage fright, fear are triggers for this excessive sweating which tends to make the people concerned very uncomfortable.

However, stress is not the only cause of sweaty hands. Palmar hyperhidrosis can also appear during hot weather, after physical exertion or also be linked to alcohol consumption.

How to cure it ?

To remedy this, there is the first-line treatment which consists of blocking the pores using antiperspirant products based on alcohol or metal salts, it is also possible to inject botulinum toxin in order to stop the production of sweat, by blocking nerve transmission to the sweat glands. Surgery is considered as a last resort and reserved for extreme forms of palmar hyperhidrosis.

So don’t be uncomfortable with your sweaty hands, there are solutions available to you. In addition, I recommend investing in some manicure sets to care for your hands.
